Visiting Artist Lecture - Yvette Kaiser Smith

Yvette Kaiser Smith makes monumental lace structures that reflect languages of mathematics, architecture, design, and chaos theory, and engage basic underlying principles of human life. Her work employs the use of fiberglass roving which is crocheted and then coated in polyester resin for strength and durability. Kaiser Smith is one of a dozen artists who has work in the exhibition, Crossing Threads/Crossing Boundaries. which opens with a reception at the NIU Art Museum this Thursday, Feb 5, at 4:30-6:00 pm.

Yvette Kaiser Smith will give a public lecture on Wednesday, Feb 4, 12:00-1:00 pm in VAB-Room 111.
